    About Me

I’m Victoria, and I’m so glad you’re here.

Keeping It Holistic is a space for small-scale homesteading for beginners: the kind that starts right where you are, even if you have limited space, time, or resources. My mission is simple: to help you slow down, build confidence in the kitchen and garden, and create a more intentional, self-sufficient life without feeling overwhelmed.

Here, you’ll find beginner sourdough baking, small-space gardening, and from-scratch, rustic recipes that are approachable, practical, and full of heart. My goal is to show you that you don’t need acres of land, expensive equipment, or years of experience to start living a more grounded, nourishing life at home.

    Why I Started This Journey

I fell in love with homesteading and slow living because I wanted life to feel more intentional. There’s something magical about kneading your own bread, growing herbs and vegetables in a tiny space, and building rhythms around home, food, and family.

Over time, I realized so many beginners want the same things:

    • To bake reliable, simple sourdough bread without stress
    • To grow food in small gardens, containers, or balconies
    • To live in a way that supports self-sufficiency and calm

Keeping It Holistic grew out of my desire to share what I’ve learned in a way that’s gentle, practical, and realistic because homesteading isn’t about perfection; it’s about starting where you are and growing from there.

    What You’ll Find Here

At Keeping It Holistic, we focus on:

Beginner-friendly sourdough baking: step-by-step guidance, rustic recipes, and tips to bake bread that’s both beautiful and reliable.
Small-space gardening: simple strategies for growing food in apartments, balconies, and small yards.
From-scratch living & homestead skills: pantry basics, seasonal routines, and slow living habits that help you feel rooted at home.

Whether you’re baking your first sourdough loaf, planting your first herb garden, or learning to live a little slower and more intentionally, this space is designed to help you reduce overwhelm, build confidence, and create a life that feels nourishing and achievable.

    My Philosophy

    I believe:

    • You don’t need acres to start homesteading.
    • You don’t need fancy tools or years of experience.
    • Slow, steady, consistent action matters more than perfection.
    • Food, home, and hands-on skills connect us to life in the most meaningful way.

Here, homesteading is gentle, practical, and joyful, not intimidating. Every loaf, garden bed, and preserved jar is a small step toward a life that feels more intentional and self-sufficient.

    Let’s Start Where You Are

If you’re ready to start small, grow what you can, and make food with your hands, you’re in the right place.

I hope this space inspires you to:

    • Bake more bread
    • Grow more plants
    • Slow down and feel more connected to home

Because homesteading doesn’t have to be complicated; it just has to start.
