    My Story

    Hi there! My name is Victoria, and I'm the creator behind Keeping It Holistic. I am a wife and mother who is passionate about natural living, health and wellness. Here you'll learn about my natural lifestyle and you'll also find tons of recipes from scratch that you'll feel comfortable feeding your family. If you want to learn more about why I'm holistic or "crunchy" keep reading below.

    The easiest way to keep up with my latest recipes is to make sure you are subscribed to my newsletter. You can expect to see more sourdough, ferments, and easy dinner recipes coming to the blog soon.

    I never was one to be really concerned about my diet and lifestyle. When I was a kid, I was picky about eating meat and officially declared I was a vegetarian at 13 years old. By vegetarian, I mean that I still ate things like Cheez-its, cheese pizza, and fake meats (being vegetarian doesn't mean eating tons of fruits and vegetables). Then, as an adult, I decided to go whole food vegan. This diet left me feeling lethargic and nutrient depleted.

    About a year later, I began incorporating whole foods (including meat) back into my diet and learning tradition methods of preparing food. I spent years reading, testing and researching everything from how to make sourdough to how to grow my own veggies in raised beds. Once I digested this new information, I began to notice that the mysterious health problems I once had went away, my skin glowed, and I had much more energy. My goal is to spread this knowledge to other people to help them improve their health.

    So I hope you follow along with me on my journey as I share our lives, our home, and our table with you. I upload to the blog and YouTube regularly. I'll be sharing some of my favorite wholesome recipes, my thoughts and experiences on holistic living, and more!

    A Few Fun Facts About Me

    • I am a classically trained musician and I started playing the flute when I was nine
    • One of my favorite things I have ever done was perform a concerto at Carnegie Hall in New York
    • My favorite time of year is surprisingly winter and hence, I love anything cozy. You'll see a lot of soup recipes here.
    • I like to garden but I also can't manage to keep a single houseplant alive.
