Juicy chicken burgers loaded with tzatziki, crumbled feta, and a Greek salad. Enjoy fresh Mediterranean Greek burgers at a backyard BBQ.

I am getting so excited for summer to start soon. Summer brings so many fun outdoor activities and our family loves to do picnics. I just fired up the grill for the first time this year to prepare this Greek burger recipe.

I love the taste of pasture raised meat and fresh cucumbers. We then used tzatziki to add a little saucy tang. I honestly can't get enough of the tzatziki.

I'm hoping to do at least one more Greek recipe this summer with more tzatziki and perhaps cucumber.

I choose to leave onions out of this recipe because no one I know likes raw onions. But if you like that extra flavor and crunch, feel free to slice up some onions for your burgers. You can also slice up extra cucumber to add an additional layer.

    What Meat Should I Use?

I used ground chicken for this recipe, but you can easily substitute it with ground lamb or beef. The chicken is going to be milder than other meats.

    What You Will Need

    Greek Burgers

2 lbs ground chicken (can substitute with ground beef or lamb)

    2 tsp dried oregano

2 tsp dried dill weed (or fresh dill)

    2 cloves minced garlic

    1 cup feta cheese

    ½ tbsp salt

    1 tsp pepper

    5 hamburger buns

    1 head lettuce

    additional olive oil for grilling

Chicken burgers topped with Greek salad and tzatziki.

    Tzatziki Sauce

    1 cup Greek yogurt

    ½ cup cucumber shredded

    salt to taste

    1-2 cloves minced garlic

    1 tsp lemon juice

    2 tsp olive oil

1 tbsp dill (fresh is best)

    Greek Salad Topping

1 cucumber diced into small pieces

1 pint cherry tomatoes diced into small pieces

    1 cup feta cheese

    ½ tbsp olive oil

Mediterranean Greek burgers with tzatziki sauce and feta.

    How to Make Greek Burgers

Heat up the grill to medium-high heat (or preheat your stovetop to medium-high heat).

Mix together the tzatziki sauce ingredients and set aside.

Mix together the ingredients for the cucumber salad topping and set aside as well.

Combine the ground chicken dried oregano, dried dill, garlic, feta, salt, and pepper and form the meat into hamburger patties. Brush the patties with olive oil before cooking.

Cook the burgers for 5-10 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperture of 165°F (If using beef or lamb then cook the burgers to your liking).

Assemble the burgers with fresh hamburger buns, Greek salad topping, tzatziki sauce, and lettuce.

I love to serve these burgers with extra Greek salad or sweet potato fries.
