Equipment

  • 2 9x13 greased baking dishes or baking sheets
  • Melon baller or spoon

Ingredients

  • 6 medium pears
  • ½ block brie cheese sliced into squares
  • 2 tablespoon melted butter
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon dried
  • 1 tablespoon ginger dried ground
  • 1 tablespoon cloves dried ground
  • ½ cup pecans

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Slice the pears in half lengthwise. Then, scoop out the center with a spoon or melon baller.
  • Lay the pears on the baking dishes or sheets with the insides facing up.
  • Pour the melted butter over the pears followed by the maple syrup and spices.
  • Turn the pears over so the skin side faces upward.
  • Bake the pears for 20 minutes.
  • After 20 minutes, remove the pears from the oven and flip them over.
  • Place the brie squares into the center of the pears, sprinkle the pecans on top and place them back into the oven for another 10-20 minutes or until the brie has melted.
  • Remove the pears from the oven and allow to cool before serving. Top with extra maple syrup if desired.
