Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Slice the pears in half lengthwise. Then, scoop out the center with a spoon or melon baller.
Lay the pears on the baking dishes or sheets with the insides facing up.
Pour the melted butter over the pears followed by the maple syrup and spices.
Turn the pears over so the skin side faces upward.
Bake the pears for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, remove the pears from the oven and flip them over.
Place the brie squares into the center of the pears, sprinkle the pecans on top and place them back into the oven for another 10-20 minutes or until the brie has melted.
Remove the pears from the oven and allow to cool before serving. Top with extra maple syrup if desired.
