Pizza is really versatile and there are so many ways to do it. You can pepperoni, cheese, breakfast pizza, and pictured here is a spicy buffalo chicken pizza. For spicy buffalo chicken pizza, we do buffalo sauce in place of marinara and top it off with mozzarella cheese, grilled chicken, and homemade ranch dressing (recipe coming soon).

This sourdough flatbread pizza crust is the perfect, easy sourdough pizza crust that doesn't require any rising. You have to be careful not to overcook it because it can get a little too crispy easily. Make sure to watch it when you get close to the end of the cooking time.

    What You Will Need

2 cups flour I use whole wheat einkorn flour

    2 cups sourdough starter

    ¼ tsp salt

1 tbsp melted butter or melted coconut oil

How to Make Sourdough Flatbread Pizza Crust

For all of my sourdough recipes, I use freshly milled, whole wheat einkorn flour and a starter with a 75% hydration ratio. If you are making this recipe with a different type of flour like all-purpose, the hydration amounts might be off. You will need to either increase the amount of liquid or reduce the amount of flour to achieve good results.

Mix all the ingredients together in a mixing bowl until a dough forms.

Cover the bowl and place in a slightly warm place (just slightly above room temperature) and let it sit for at least 6-8 hours or overnight.

After 6-8 hours, preheat the oven to 350°F.

Roll the dough out and place onto a pizza stone or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Drizzle melted butter or coconut oil on top of the dough and place in the oven for 50 minutes.

Then take the pizza crust out of the oven and cover with toppings. Cook for another 10-15 minutes until the toppings are cooked, or I personally like to set my oven to broil for a few minutes when I am cooking my toppings.
